Kelly, I haven't been here very long, but I can tell you that no one here feels like you are being a bother. We've all been there...I'm not too knowledgeable about treatments, but there must be something else out there for you. You need to call your doctor and let him/her know how you're feeling. Why were you advised to go off Zeprexa? You do need to be pro-active - research some of the other meds for your diagnosis. Others here can tell you where to do that...I wish I could. But please do something on your behalf; nobody needs to feel so alone and helpless. People here will help you get through this, I know. Keep us posted! Take care, liz

In my opinion the way you are feeling is more than just a rotten state of mind, it's a medical emergency. That's how I've come to see bouts of depression. I would call the doctor today and let him know how badly you are doing without the Zyprexa.
I know one pdoc who uses one of three antipsychotics a lot. He claims Risperdal is less sedating than Zyprexa, doesn't have the weight gain, and can be taken during the day. Stelazine is another one, calming yet alerting. These might be choices to consider. But I would definitely get on the phone or march into the office today.

Kelly,
Was the problem with Zyprexa just the sedation? I know that I got over the sedation after a couple of weeks plus I take it about an hour before going to sleep and feel fine when I wake up in the morning. Also you may want to look at Risperdal. I didn't like it because I felt a complete lack of emotion when I took it. On the other hand I was on a relatively high dosage. It may work for you.

Kelly, I am so sorry for being out of it, and not noticing this thread. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. Explain again, why did this doctor want you off the zyprexa? It seemed to be helping you.

Noa,when i talked to him on thursday & told him that i wasn't doing very good he asked if i would go back on it, but it made me so tried all the time & all the weight wasn't helping. I been having big time panic attacks since i been off of it,I had a P/A when i was driving on the parkway to my mother inlaws house & almost blacked out,,I been having this problems for sometime now but this has to be the worst in all the time i've been living w/ it.He told me to call my gp & get a prescription for Ativan & as soon as my insurs. clears up i find a psychiatrist to help me find the right meds. Mybe this is it, this is what i am, mybe I'II never be happy or not afaid again, should i stop tring and face it that this is as good as it gets? Thanks for everything

No.
This is a part of you. It is NOT all of you.
Hang in there,
