Alternative treatment to cancer(Adenocarcenome)

Posted by Ian on April 3, 2000, at 21:09:56

I would like to know if anyone has been treated or is treated by whatsoever alternative medicine means, for lung cancer. I have been treated since October 1999 by radiation and chemo. In Jan 2000 my scan showed no growth of the swollen gland in my airtube next to my right lung.(My original problem)I have now had a brain tumour removed as a result of it.This followed another 12 radiation sessions. If anyone can help, it would be highly appreciated. I have been using some homeopathic medicines and tinctures which I receive from friends at health shop.

James here....

This is a board about mental health medication issues, so most are not up on cancer treatment issues, you might try asking this question elsewhere.

You might try concentrated extracts of shitake, maitake (Grifola frondosa), or Ling Chi (Ganoderma lucidum). They are reputed to have polysacchrides that stimulate the immune system. There is a drug, Lentinan, which is a purified polysacchride from shitake, (Lentinus edodes), that is used as an adjunct for chemotherapy. I don't know if it is approved in the U.S.. There are no doubt other alternative medicines that might be useful, vitamin C, Astragalus, Echinacea?? There should be useful information on the Internet. Good luck.
