My question is can Remeron cause a change in personality?
My 16 year old daughter started taking this medication about a
week ago and has had two incidents with the police. This is NOT like my daughter and I am worried. She just did
something that she wouldn't have done a week or so ago or
or ever for that fact. She got picked up for shoplifting tonight. This is not like her at all to do something like this. Normally
she is afraid of doing anything wrong. Can Remeron do this? I need some answers please.

According to the PDR, activatiion of mania/hypomania occurred in approximately 0.2% (3/1,299 patients) treated with Remeron in U.S. clinical trials. This does not prove a cause/effect relationship. If you haven't already notified the prescribing physician of the radical behavior change, do so. They can't help you if they don't know about it. As a mother of three teens (one with ADHD) and having experienced AD induced hypomania, I must put in a word for personal responsibility for behavior. If I can't control mine I need to get myself to the hospital.Best,
Chris A.
