I have been suffering from anxiety and have tried different things, but the current med I am on is Remeron. This is my first week and have felt very groggy especially in the morning. I was initially cautious about taking the Xanax with it as I thought it increase the fog. The funny thing is that the Xanax actually makes me feel more alert. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Does Remeron seem to work well for anxiety in the long term?

I was given Remeron as a sleeping aid. It seems the higher the dose, the less the sedative effect. I was on 15mgs. I took it once, at 8:30pm, and could not get up the next day until almost noon!! Awful stuff! Never took it again. (hard to be a mom and do that!) There are plenty of antiety drugs out there that don't have that side effect. If anyone has any clue about a good one for sleep that doesnt have the hangover effect, let me know!!

I have had the best luck with xanax. When I take it I sleep great. When my mom died I made my dad take it and he said that was the best nights sleep he has ever had. Now my new stepmother takes it sometimes and one of my mothers friend takes it when she has to fly. It helped me get up on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. I thought the ranger would have to drive me and my kids back down the mountain. It has saved me numerous times. However, I have heard it can be addictive and I don't take the amount mypdoc put on the prescription.
