About 6 yrs. ago I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Since then I have become very depressed which is treatment resistant. Before my diagnosis, I was a user of crystal meth, and I can't help feeling that's why I don't respond to medication. Not only do I not respond, but I am very sensitive to cognitive side effects. If anyone has any info on this please respond.

Did you try xanax? Klonipin? Are you in therapy? What about Neurontin?

I am sorry I did not make myself very clear. I have tried several of the AD's and the benzo's. My question is, have I messed up the chemicals in my head so that nothing will work for me. I think I read somewhere that someone that does recreational drugs does damage to chemical systems, so the ad's don't have anything to work with. As I look back I realize that I was self-medicating, and I have to wonder if I haven't messed myself up so badly that I will never get well.
