I would greatly appreciate any help with my med combo. Currently, I'm on 4.5mg Klonopin (Rivotril over here) and am withdrawing from Paxil (Seroxat over here), because of still being depressed and higher dosages lead to complete anorgasmia. I'm expecting to start on Effexor soon but am a little anxious that the side effects I've had from Nardil, Remeron and moclobemide will kind of scupper me. I understand that the mechanism of action isn't quite the same with any of these drugs nor is it with effexor but I do understand that noradrenaline (or norepinephrine) based drugs do give me some horrible side effects like weird sensations in the head that are unbearable.
I'm kind of hoping someone has had experience of Effexor/Klonopin combo for social phobia and dysthymia.
Also, what is this thing I've heard about Klonopin and caffeine not being so hot as I drink loads of coke (a lot).
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks anyway,
Chris UK

First of all, remember: your mileage may vary.
I've been on klonopin for about 15 months now. There have been periods in that time where I'd drink 2+ liters of Diet Coke a day. Never had a problem ... then again, I don't respond well to caffeine in the first place.
I also take nortriptyline right now, so that falls in your klonopin+something that affects norepinephrine. In three years on the meds merry-go-round, it may be the best combination I've seen yet ... not quite where I'd like to be, but still pretty effective.
my two cents,
bob

Hi, I am new to this board, but wanted put my two cents in regarding klonopin. Taking trazadone for sleep and klonopin for panic disorder and fibromyalgia. This has been the first combination that has helped the fibro. Biggest concern is how long I will be able to stay on the klonopin.
BTW, haven't noticed any problems with caffeine. Are there supposed to be?

I haven`t noticed any problems myself, but some people report that there are, so I'm wondering if I cut out the caffeine, the klonopin will be more effective. I don`t know myself to be honest.
Thanks for the reply anyway,
Chris
