questions for PL...

Posted by CarolAnn on February 11, 2000, at 14:05:44

Hi PL, I hope you don't mind a few questions, here's the background first. I read in one of your posts above that you are on 200mgs. Wellbutrin twice per day, and 20mgs Celexa. I've been on the same dose of Wellbutrin about four months now, and was just this week prescribed Celexa. I have one more day on 10mgs. then I start 20mgs. How well do you like this combination? How long did it take the Celexa to kick in? Any problems at all? Any other info you can share?
Oh! I am also on 10mgs. Adderall three times per day. I would be grateful for any feedback. Thank you for your time!CarolAnn

Hi CarolAnn,

The Celexa seemed to kick in a little faster than the other SSRIs. About 3 weeks. I did go up to 40 mg a day, but got no extra benefit so went back to 20. I don't need a lot of seratonin help, mainly its norepinehrine and dopamine increases that I need.

I am also on 20 mg. ritalin sr which has help me a lot. I always felt I had ADD and finally convinced my psy to let me have a stim. The amazing thing is that it does not stimulate me at all. In fact I feel much calmer, and no sleep difficulties. It helps me more with social anxiety than anything else. I have learned to cope with the ADD though other means, so I image that I will be helped by the stim a lot more slowly in that regard. I am hoping to get it up to 20 mg Rit 2x day, because I do notice that in the PM I am more anxious and worried about insignificant stuff.

Take care!
PL
