Linda, I take Effexor-XR also. After slowly building up the dose, I now take 225 mg/day. I take it all in the morning with food. It makes me kind of "jittery" (although this has worn off, the longer I've taken it). I want to ask my pdoc about adding something to counteract the jitters (I used to take Serzone, and think a small dose would help); other people have suggested Klonopin and such (I hate downers and would never take those though). Talk to your pdoc about it and see what he/she suggests. Good luck to you!--Cindy W

I find that Serzone does help to mitigate the jittery effects of effexor. I take it at night and it helps me sleep, in addition to slowing the jitters down throughout the day and night. I still have some jitters, though, but it is possible they are due to anxiety (I tend to get anxious when recovering from depression, and I also have something in my life right now that is anxiety producing).
