I had the odd side effect when I was on Nardil of hearing music (that wasn't really playing anywhere outside my head!). I hadn't thought about this for a while, as it seemed like a pretty harmless side effect, but it's been happening again since I've been on Marplan, and my pdoc got pretty weirded out by it. (I stopped Nardil before I started seeing him (my therapist was doing my meds when I was on Nardil).)
So, what gives? Anybody have any clue what might be going on? (Yes, I've had 2 pretty-much-normal sleep-deprived EEGs, one of them while on Nardil.)

I find this one baffling. There have been a number of posts about this. Some have suggested epilepsy. Who knows. I definitely think this is an area screaming for more reasearch, don't you?

I hear music when I'm manic. Also phones ringing, door bells and children playing. Doesn't everyone?

I hear bells, phones, radio static, faint cord progressions on a piano, kids talking and crying, someone faintly whistling. But, only when I am really tired or really hyped (i.e. oversensitive to outward stimuli- my theory/could be wrong). I do know that one neurologist was convinced that it was a sign of epilepsy and consequently, prescribed Tegretol. Which I didn't enjoy, but in all honesty, I didn't hear those sounds while I was on it. Of course, I didn't hear much at all, I felt so sedated and out of it. Just a few more thoughts to throw on the fire :-)
