To all you mothers...

Posted by shar on May 14, 2006, at 14:34:45

There are some great moms around here who deserve a great big thank you and a lot of credit.

Some learned how to be great moms because they had great moms themselves. Some learned how to be great moms because they had AWFUL moms, and were determined not to repeat the same mistakes.

Some of us may not have been great moms because we didn't know how--but, we TRIED LIKE CRAZY to at least do no harm. I pretty much fall in that category and don't really know how well I did...except, I think my son is a really neat, cool kid (well, he's 35 now, but still a kid to me).

I've been impressed so often by the courage and tenacity shown by moms around here who are in battle with forces beyond themselves and still do what it takes to care for their babies (no matter how old their 'babies' are). And I don't mean just females. A lot of dads are great moms, too. Mine was a much better mom than my mother.

Anyhow, Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and dads out there who are doing a great job, and to those who are trying their best to do a great job!

xoxo
Your oldie friend,
Shar

What a wonderful post, Shar. Thank you very much.

Good point about you don't need to be a female to be a Mom!!!!!!! Cool

I think I said it all in the previous post.

hugs, Kath
