I've got an earworm...
The Pogues, "Fairytale of
New York," and it's driving me NUTS! You know the line, right? The one that gets repeated, over and over again? The rest of the song isn't part of the earworm -- only that section I can't post here without being uncivil? ARGH!It's actually alternating with "Walking Down Madison." Started when I read -- within the past few weeks -- about Kirsty MacColl's death... (Horrifying, that.)
Make it stop!
(Fortunately, listening to Yaz's "You and Me Both" seemed to reduce it a bit... Then I heard "Mr Blue" for a while, instead...)

Oh.. Kirsty McColl's death was awful. so sad, and such a huge talent lost. Fairytale of new York is just.. well.. spectacular!
You can always tell when I'm listening to the Pogues at the bus stop as my feet jig around *laughing* I also highly recommend "And the band played Waltzing Matilda". Oh, I feel aned to jig *lol*
Oh don't remind me about Yazz *lol* My Yazz look still makes me cringe *L* It was hot.. I had short cropped hair, bright t-shirt, denim shorts, opaque black tights and odd coloured Converse All Stars *l*
My dream man would waltz with me to the pogues..

I can almost hear the "waltzing mathilda" song...
How 'bout The Chills? Love them. There's a little stack of CDs near a boombox in our bedroom, and it ALWAYS has Yaz and The Chills in it.
I don't think I have The Pogues on CD, though, and there are a couple of boxes in front of the door to the closet where my stereo -- with turntable -- is, so I can't play the vinyl... :-(
But we can collect our records and play them and dance in our bare feet in the living room!
(And I remember standing next to Siouxsie during a sound check, with her GORGEOUS in her lovely clothes -- wearing a t-shirt, maroon opaque tights, denim cut offs, and -- I forget the shoes. Could have been black Converse high tops. Could have been chunky ankle boots. {shrug} Man, I felt like a -- never mind...)
This is the end of the thread.
