It's not perfect, but it's DONE!!!

OK, so y'all remember Dr EyeCandy -- who recently changed his name to Dr GraduatedLastInHisClass -- and The Therapist from the Black Lagoon? They worked at The Agency From Hell? Well, if you remember, I have been working on reporting them to the appropriate agencies for way too long. I finally sent everything off today.

First, I was working with an attorney from a local agency set up by the Bar Association that handles all sorts of Mental Health related issues. They finally decided that the only thing they were able to go after the agency for was failing to treat my eating disorder. That certainly wasn't enough, because it was their treatment that *triggered* the eating disorder in the first place. So I was on my own, AND having those familiar doubts about whether or not they had actually done anything wrong, or if I was just so damaged that I thought they had.

Well, I've been working on the complaints, basically saying to myself that if there's nothing to them, the agencies involved will ignore them. Then, I got a new therapist, one who specializes in eating disorders, and when she heard just part of what had gone on, she wanted to know if I'd considered reporting this stuff to the licensing boards? I gave her the stuff I had written so far, and she read it, saying she was really impressed, since it was not just "I felt..." but a lot of factual information presented logically, etc. And she encouraged me. So I finally got off my back end and finalized the complaints and filled out the forms and today I went to the U. S. Post Office, where I stood in line between a young woman with a toddler and an older woman, filled out the Certified Mail form and the Return Receipt form, paid a reasonable amount of money to a very nice Postal Service Employee, and walked home.

Now, I can't say that I feel 100% great about all this. For one thing, I am still feeling as though it's all my fault, that I don't have the right to complain -- and that it's been so long, I've got a good treatment team now, no harm, no foul, so I should let it all go. And, of course, in case I never made this clear, I actually liked Dr EyeCandy, so I feel pretty wretched about complaining to both the county -- which paid for my treatment there -- and to the state medical board. Now, I also realize that that's kinda silly -- I didn't *make* him do the things that are listed in the complaint, right? I'm just reporting what he did, which he did of his own accord.

Whatever.

The whole process is done. It's over. I did it. And now I can put everything away, file the copies of the complaints, and move on with my life.

Thank you.

Anyone here?

I was hoping to get a response to this...

So, after a few days, I'm kinda wound up about this whole thing: a fair amount of anxiety built up, all about whether I should have just let it go, walked away, etc. How much of this is a desire for revenge, a sort of "you hurt me, so I'll hurt you back" childishness, etc.

You know. The basic "I don't really deserve any better than I got, so I better not complain..."

Anyway, if anyone's here, I could really use some feedback. Thanks.

The system is unworkable. Somebody has to say something.
F**k them and the horse they rode in on. You did the right thing. That's my vote, FWIW.

Thank you, Phil. It means a lot to me to hear that from you. I appreciate it.

Hope things are going well for you, and thanks for the focus on shoes recently. I love shoes.

Racer,
I'm THRILLED that you found someone who understands at least a bit more about what's going on!

Please keep us informed...even tho' we may not be very 'active' these days. Has anything happened?

I do so hope that you will get some satisfaction from all this!!

xoxo
Shar

I just checked in here after ages of non-activity. Every time I checked in, there was nothing. I don't remember the specific events, but I'm sure that you did the right thing.
