I have very impressive hemorrhoids!!! *L*

Posted by NikkiT2 on April 25, 2005, at 10:53:47

Well, thats what the doc said!

I FINALLY had my colonoscopy / gastroscopy tis morning.. the drugs they gave me were great *L* and only now really wearing off..

I only remember small snatches of it all.. don't remember any of the insertions which is the part I was really worried about.. and only vaguely remember being sick all over the pillow when they removed the tube for the gastroscopy.. did wake up briefly to see some pictures of my insides which was pretty cool (I like that kind of thing!)

Up shot is.. they're still not sure what is going on.. the neck of my stomach is very irritated, so they took some biopsies to see if they could get an idea..
I have some lesions in my colon (not cancer related they're pretty sure) which have been biopsied too (could be related to very long term heavy ibuprofen use and abuse).. But *L* I apparently have a very impressive collection of internal hemmorhoids going "all the way up" (not sure what all the way up means, but I was too whacked out to really ask), and there is obviously a reason for them. A couple of the larger ones (I woke briefly to be shown one of those.. it looked HUGE on the screen is all I know *L*) were cauterised there and then I think he said..

So, the upshot is, I now have a scan being scheduled, and another appointment with the gastrologist.. Who knows when they will be!!!

All in all, the day of "prep" is a damned site harder than the actual procedure, but hopefully that alone will have helped me out a little!

Sorry I've not been around.. been sulking and fed up with all of this!!

I hope everything does turn out ok, and I'm sorry you're having to do all of this just to get to the 'bottom' (no pun intended) of the problem.

However, great drugs never hurt! Thanks for the smiles and laughs!!

Cool! I've never known anyone who had impressive hemorrhoids.

I admire your bravery and humor through all of this. Highest hopes and bestest wishes that the next tests will go well, too.

I was still completely whacked out on the meds when I posted this *l*

All I want is to feel better.. so far I feel a damned site worse.

Only 7 months till the scan it seems *sighing*

Sorry! You have my deepest sympathy. (And envy for getting medical care.)

I was sort of kidding because a lot of pregnant women 'obtain' hems either during the 9 months or while giving birth (thus our NEGATIVE feelings about thongs!)

I got mine while giving birth, but nobody EVER said they were IMPRESSIVE!

I was at a lingerie party once (where this lady was trying to sell stuff) ....well, anyhow, the thongs didn't go over so well with me.

It's a pretty funny story, but, it's also WAY past my bedtime!

I hope you will be totally ok!!
