I hardly EVER check in here, but when I do it gives me SUCH a wonderfully warm feeling to see all those familiar names!
I want to share my GOOD NEWS......
"the Bird has flown" - my son Jay (who we sometimes call "Jay-bird") now is renting a cute little winterized cottage with his very nice girlfriend.Jay has finally moved out in a POSITIVE manner, instead of getting "kicked out" - more positively worded as having to leave as a result of his actions or inactions.
I actually wondered if this would EVER happen. He's 20 now & the ongoing problems began when he was about 14!!!!!!!!! It feels like 'forever ago'.
Over the last 2 years there's been a great improvement in his attitude & maturity, but my husband & I were still pretty freaked out about the possibility that he'd still be here & not fully funcitoning in society when he was 28!!
He still does drugs - weed & probably ecstacy sometimes & I'm not sure what else - but at least he's working, has a nice girlfriend & is on his own!
We get along great now - actually have been since in the summer after the "last blow-up", when I finally realized "Hey! He's 20 - he's a man. What other man in the world would I allow to speak to me like that?"
Anyway, it's so totally exciting I wanted to share it here with those of you who've supported me through the ups & downs over the years.

I remember, "back in the day", talking about your daughter, amd how she had given you prpblems. She has grown in to a wonderful adult for you t be proud of.. and it seems Jay is gping in the same direction.
I am SO SO happy fo you.. jeez, I remember him being that little kid.. it scares me that he's suddenly 20!! WOW!!

Hi Nikki - isn't it amazing how time goes so quickly in some ways - in other ways, certain things seem to go on forEVER!
Yo Nik - is it true you're planning to come to Ontari-ari-ario?
I know you stayed with friends I think it was in London last time. I would just love it if you could include a meeting with me in your schedule.
It takes me about 3/4 hour to zip down the "Parkway" to Toronto & we could meet for a bit - or for lunch - or even for the day & I could drive you here & there to see what you'd like to see. I'd love to do that. Depending on your timing, I could even take you camping for a couple of days (or more)...even to the wonderful Killbear Provincial Park where I have my "Kathryn's week away"!!Anyway, I'll understand if you haven't time to go camping, but I really hope we can at least meet.
Please let me know. Also I'm hoping things have improved with regard to Julian's (to me) immature & abusive behaviour in October to you. Would love to know how you're doing.
