hello everyone!!
I've been so so bad and lacking here recently.. Work is great, I am loving it.. but I am so so exhausted. I seem to use up all concentration and brain power during the day, and end up with none what do ever once I get home. As such, I have been a very very bad friend. Racer - I promise to email you! Promise promise!
I am having a really good time of life though.. I'm slowly building up a social life again which is great. But Nikki time is suffering. I miss having time just for me. We went to a friends in Norfolk for the weekend.. I adore the area so much and the friends we went with are wonderful.. but after friday and saturday, and two very late nights, Sunday was all a little too much to cope with and I got all freaked out. But I got through it, and things are fine again now.
Anyway.. My bath is calling. And I must send that email off to Racer before I get in it!!
Know that I am thinking about you all very very much.. You're all so damned special to me!

Hi, Nikki. You sound good. Glad the work is actually FUN. Not many people can say that.

It's so wonderful to hear you're doing so well, Nikki, and especially that you're loving your work so well. That really is a great feeling, isn't it? I remember my first year or so at the Center, and how wonderful it was -- despite being so exhausting. It did take all my mental energy during the day, but that felt so *good*! And I'd get up in the morning *glad* that I could start again.
I'm so glad you've found a Nikki-shaped niche. I still want to hear *all* about it, but that can wait until you have time. And, of course, we can compare book notes whenever you get the chance. I'm having trouble reading again right now, so it's not all that urgent. (I had picked up The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, because I had a craving to reread the part about the Masters of Krikkit, but only managed to get through the early books to the beginning of that section before my reading ability crapped out. {sigh} Cymbalta is not treating me all that well right now, and I'm hoping the doctor will choose to change it in favor of another trial of Wellbutrin when I see him tomorrow.)
If your bath was calling, what exactly did it say? That frightens me a bit, you know -- my shower never says anything very interesting to me... Maybe it just doesn't find me very interesting?
Many Xs and Os to you, Nikki, and I wish you could see the smile this post brought to my face, and feel the warm glow it gave me to hear that it's going so well for you. Thank you for sharing it with us.
