We're all better, now?

Is that how come there are no new posts? How nice that would be!

I'm doing this mainly to keep 2000 alive.

Hi,
I'm glad you noticed there hasn't been any activity here lately. I kind of doubt everyone is 'all better', but how are you feeling? I'm in a fog half the time (so that's my excuse for not posting)- in all honestly I rather feel dissociated then depressed. I'm off to see my therp in half an hour, still haven't found a new pdoc and I refuse to look.
take care of yourself- judy

Hi everybody!

I haven't posted in a long time. I went off meds a couple years ago. I'm now taking herbs and supplements instead.

I'm trying to decide if I want to try prescription meds again. Prozac worked well before but it destroyed my sex drive. I quit taking it after several years but sadly my sex drive never came back. This has caused immense friction with my husband.

I'm back in college now, majoring in Health Psychology. My classmates are a very social bunch. I've tried my best to fit in and be social but I feel so isolated. I notice little things like when I sneeze, people don't say, "Bless you" to me, but if someone else sneezes, they do.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I try so hard to be friendly and supportive with the people around me.

I wish I could see myself as others see me.

I remember that Prozac made it easier for me in social situations. I'm thinking of trying Wellbutrin now. Any thoughts?

I can't advise on the meds, but I do hope you'll find something that works for you.

It is so admirable that you returned to school. That is not an easy thing to do. And school can be stressful, so hang in there.

Nice wish. Someday, it will be true.

I've had an amazingly hectic week and am exhausted. My mood has been good, although this week has sometimes been quite stressful. But you know when certain stresses are so clearly someone else's craziness and not your own and how that makes it easier to cope with emotionally? Yeah, there's been a fair amount of that. It's draining but not depression-inducing.

But the weather has been wonderful and I've enjoyed being outside more. And now I have some stuff to actually sit on in my condo, which has made being in my condo a lot less stressful for me.

Thanks for keeping 2000 alive and kicking.

Hi, Judy!

I'm tired and it's late, so I'm fading myself here, so I'll write more in a couple of days. But just wanted to say hi. Glad you posted.

Thanks for the reply Noa. I've been wanting to thank you for a very long time. I posted a couple notes to you in the past but I don't know that you ever saw them.

You encouraged me to get my thyroid evaluated back in 2000. Turns out I really was hypo and I've been taking Armour ever since. It doesn't relieve all the symptoms but it definitely helps. I even got the VA to admit my thyroid problems started years ago but went undiagnosed by the Air Force. I won a disability claim with them on appeal.

It was working on the mystery of my own health problems that inspired me to go to Bastyr University. It's a well respected school for naturopathic medicine.

Thanks Noa. I hope you are well.

Cool!

Glad I could help about the thyroid thing. I was pretty much the thyroid missionary lady there for a while, wasn't I? Since then there seem to be a lot more people who discuss thyroid, which is great.

School is hard! There is always something to work on, the workday never ends, etc. Good luck. Keep in touch here.

Yes, school can be hard and there is always some project hanging over my head or a test looming.

But, I think it's easier than dealing with crazy supervisors and office politics. I'm hoping that with an advanced degree, I'll get more respect and less abuse.
