Is there any way (other than willpower- which I sorely lack) to prevent me from going to that board? Maybe I should ask Dr. Bob. It's like a war zone there, I get soooo anxious.

Hi Judy.Things have pretty much calmed down over there for now. It was a mess for a few days, but I think the process worked to a large degree. There was an awful lot of anger that had built up within some individuals that needed to be expressed. I really do hope that Larry comes back. I would have to say that he is one of the most well-read people I've ever encountered. Smart guy.

I wish I had a good answer.
I broke my habit of going to the other boards when I got blocked for a week. I ended up feeling very anxious... sort of beside myself. Then I just stopped feeling that way and didn't feel a need to go there anymore or to get involved in the hoopla.
PB 2000 is like a small-town version of the other boards. It is a place where people are familiar and I feel safer. So I rarely travel beyone here. Maybe this is too insular, but at the moment, it is all that I need, and I feel that it helps me stay more calm.

One way I have used in the past to help my will power, is to book mark each different board I wanted to visit, and only use my book marks, not the Dr Bob provided links.
But that does mean you can't use the frames version of the site.I know you can block websites thorugh IE.. so maybe you can block just one of the boards here.. I'll go investigate.

If you use IE you can block a certain URL this way.. but that will only work if you;re using the non frames site (if when you click on a message, you get that message in a new window, and not just on the right hand side of your page)
tools > internet options > content tab
V=Click "enable" button,
then approved sites tab
type in website url, and then click never
