This weather...

Is really getting to me, I'm afraid.

It's supposed to go down to -4 tonight and the wind is gusting so that they're saying the windchill is -24. It was an ordeal just trying to get the garbage to the curb this evening. Schools were closed today and are again tomorrow. They are warning everyone to stay inside and avoid unnecessary travel.

The snow is starting to stick to the windows in clumps so that I can't see out very well. It was snowing so hard this afternoon that the house across the street was barely visible.

I am feeling anxious and antsy. There's plenty to do inside -- chores, schoolwork, even stuff that normally could be fun -- but I don't want to do anything except curl up in bed. I can't seem to focus. I just feel dread.

Is the weather doing this to anyone else?

I wonder if part of your dread has to do with feeling confined, not being able to 'get out' or something like that. In a way, you are isolated, and I imagine if you needed to go somewhere it would be difficult. That kind of situation would have a negative effect on me.

If that is part of it, and you acknowledge it, you might feel better about being inside. Or, make a plan for what you'd do if you had to go somewhere. Then you might be able to relax a little more.

Or, maybe it's nothing like that at all.

Here, it's rainy, light sweater weather. Honestly, I'd love to see some snow, but...maybe not as much as you're getting to see...

Bundle up and take care!
Shar

do you have SAD? I used to live in Minnesota, and remember wind chills of -80 and months of gray- it got so bad I moved to a warm and sunny place. but I did use a light box when I lived there, have you tried one?
take care, judy

We're being really lucky with our weather at the moment.. its really pretty mild (very mild compared to you guys!), but its rainy and yucky, and I hate rain (I hate getting wet while shopping!)

I can understand your antsyness though.. When I can go out, I never want to.. but if I *have* to stay in, I get all wierd and confined. I think its a control thing.. when you have choice its OK, but when you have that choice taken away its alot more pressuring and thus causes wierd feelings.

Hope this passes for you.. we're wasting a dreery saturday watching the "Ultimate 80's weekender" on VH1 Classic music channel *laughing* Can you believe I'd never seen the Video to "Uptown Girl" before??!! *l* I saw few music videos at this age.. Was a good Girl Guide on Thursday evenings when the only music programme really on UK TV was on!! And now (I started this message an hour ago, can you beleive!) I've made margaritas to go with it *laughing*

Thank you, all

I think it is a combination of being cooped up and not having a regular schedule of work or chores. I guess I have been going a little stir-crazy. I also am finding myself less tolerant of cold. I guess I am getting old.

Thank you all for your input. It helps.
