I'm lonely dammit!

Posted by Greg on April 21, 2003, at 20:09:31

About a month and a half ago M was discussing her vacation time and told me that she had decided not to take it because she knew I wouldn't be able to take any time off with her. What a sweet thing to say, right? As a contractor, I'm not eligable to accrue any vacation time, so if I take time off, it's unpaid. That's just not in the cards right now.

I thought about what she said and realized how grossly unfair it was to her to not take her time because of something that was out of both of our control. I suggested that she go ahead and take her vacation over Spring Break and take the kids up to her Mom's house for a few days. Her Mom moved away a little over a year ago up north and she's been missing her a lot. She was hesitant at first, but eventually agreed. They left yesterday.

Well, I had it in my mind that it would be cool to do the bachelor thing for a few days. You know, peace and quiet, do what I want, sports on the tube all the time, etc. Well, it took all of about two hours for me to get extremely bored, start missing her and the kids like crazy, and get VERY lonely. It dawned on me that I haven't been by myself for over 15 years, and I don't know what to do. I really miss my family!

Am I freaking pathetic or what?

But...when M gets back on Wednesday, the kids are going to J's house for the rest of the week and Mom and I are going to have some fun!!!

Just sign me...

Lonely in Livermore :(

Awww, so sorry you're lonesome. She's back now right?
I think I know what you mean about the 15 days thing but i think you're wrong about the date that you "butt in" It was the 8th. So there, I didn't forget :-)
Do you ever go back to the archives and read some of the stuff when you first signed up at PB? I've read some of my early posts and as I read, I wonder who it was that wrote them because I swear it couldn't have been me...hehehaha Some are very articulate and we both know that isn't one of my strong points.

ah well. tempus fugit

Hmmm, it sounds like you love your family, and like your home life. How pathetic is that? That's always been my dream, to be loved like that, and have a home life I'll miss if I leave (or they leave) for a while.

Admit it, you're just a sensitive, loving man. ooooh, I know you hate that!! :)

Cam,

Clearly you have, once again, been peeping
at my bedroom window. Sigh, I thought you said
this was "old behavior" after the monkey glands
treatment.

LUBRICANTS, WOW, i'VE BEEN USING AXLE GREASE.
Didn't Portnoy use kidneys? Liver!! Liver/Lubricants...c'mere kitty.

So I got a physical recently and the doctor said, "Where did you get these liver spots?"

So I had a physical recently and had the have the required prostate exam. (I choose my doctor by his ring size, you know..)
So he was, you know, testing and resting his left hand on my shoulder...uh, and then his, r-r-right hand, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
I said, "Doc, is this part of my HMO Plan? They sure are sending clear messages these days."
What a sick doctor, huh? And you better believe I tell him that, every Tuesday when I have my "exam".

So, my girlfriend was at the crib last night and I was having my usual Saturday night Cuban cigar, a little brandy, and some black tar heroin. Ooops, it was some type of rum, not brandy. Myers Rum I believe.

She said, "Phil, you know that men think their cigars are extentions of their penis'?"
I said, "If that were the case, Ambrosia Nadine Louise, I certainly wouldn't clip the end off and light it."

Thank you..Thank you, Ed. What a shew, what a shew. We'll be back after this with Topo Gigio
and that group of boys all the girls want to meet, The Beatles!

You really are ruining my rep you know...

I was glad to see M and the kids when they got home. Although it only took about an hour before I was ready to get rid of my daughter again. Jeez, did she ever have an attitude! It seems like the older she gets the ruder she gets. And I was such a perfect teenager...

The mini-vacation was great! It was good to get away. Email me and let me know if there's a good time this week to call you, it seems like months since the last time we talked.

Love ya,
Greg

P.S. Thanks for the compliment, I should be used to the truth by now, but it still makes me blush :)

Izzat how come I didn't hear from you Sunday? You were out having fun??? That's almost a crime!

I'm delighted to hear your jaunt to other places was a good one, and that home is back to normal (attitudes and all). It's about time you got to have some fun with your lovely wife!!
