Overwhelmed. I desperately, desperately need a job, but I can't seem to follow up on any of the jobs I know about, because I really don't want to do them. I'm spoiled.

Wooo, can I ever relate to what you're saying. I've often pondered about taking a job that won't even pay the bills, because it will let me pay at least some of them. Then, I think about 'could I even really do that?' and I'm not sure I could.

I did get a temp job that is 8-5 Mon-Fri, and it almost covers everything. It's for 2 months. So, I'll let you know what I discover about the costs and benefits of underemployment.

Yeah, I feel overwhelmed about that too. That any job I get will not be enough to even start to cover what I owe, so why bother at all?

Good luck Shar.

and I can't sleep. everyone else gets a holiday long weekend tomorrow. all my friends are out partying, i may as well be, it's not like i'm getting the sleep i need anyway! It's 1am, I'll be at classes from 9am-10.30pm tomorrow, including a class presentation, gotta be up at 7 absolute latest. I really want to sleep but head is going too fast. got very bad very sad very confusing potentially spiral downturn news today. and a goddamn hormonal migraine. no money to buy painkillers that work. not that anywhere is open at 1.08am...except my brain. that seems to work on a 20hr rotating basis.

i wish i was simple.

Getting up at 6 a.m. is ROUGH. The other stuff I've been doing is much more flexible time-wise, or the hours are late (like 6pm to 11 pm). I'm a night person.

Other than that, it is scoring essays written by 11th graders, so after a week of training, we read, read, read, read, read these handwritten essays. Some are ok, more are rather horrifying. The horror is that these 16 or 17 years old can't put a decent sentence together, for the most part. And, none of 'em can spell. And, most can't write legibly.

But, the essays I enjoy the most are the ones who write about how much they hate doing these essays.

Plus, my mom had gall bladder surgery so I've been going from work to the hospital, then do errands. I'm too old for this.

Other than that, things are great!

Shar
