ok, it has officially gone from bad to more bad (trying to avoid worse, here). Had an appt. with therapist, wad of bills to mail, needed to go to dr and get sinus head checked, needed to get car inspected.
Mailed bills, went to therapy, came out, car would not start. Jumped battery, no difference. Called bro-in-law, he jumped battery, no difference---except by this time it was pouring down rain. Got a ride home. Called tow truck, but failed to leave a key for the tow guy, drive in borrowed car back to town to leave key. Car doesn't get towed to garage, at least it hadn't been when I called at 4 today.
Called IRS because someone at my bank said they thought I should get a tax break I didn't take. Ended up realizing I filled out part of my tax return wrong, and owe IRS $3,000.
Still have sinus head, no antibiotics, couldn't get to dr. No car inspection. Still need to refill meds...but no car. Can't get to work. Live out in the boonies.
There are a few other things. This is not happy days.

Dear Shar,
(((((((((Shar))))))))) Don't you wish for "just one break" to get through the day? God, it sounds like you're teetering on the edge of a volcano, hoping not to get swept away by the hurricane while ducking the tornado. I am so sorry, sweetie.... xoxoxoxo

Y'all are so nice. Thanks for the understanding and warm wishes. I do hope for a break, or something. I am still hanging on and plan to do so unless the wind blows a straw onto my back, then I'll probably just fall right over.
I do appreciate y'all responding. Thanks.

ok. I applied for a special unemployment program. I was approved. there was an error, made by the state agency that processes unemployment. Upshot is I should not have been approved.
So, I have to pay back what I received.
I don't mind the not receiving it. I mind the paying it back when it wasn't my error AND I'm already so broke!
It is a little ironic to be expected to pay back unemployment (ie, it's sort of an axiom that you're not doing well financially in the first place if you're unemployed. At least to me).
Waiting to see what today and tomorrow bring,
S

Ahhh MIC,
Shit! Not meaning to be the bearer of bad news, but if these SOB's are as bad as the ones in Cal, I'd make some kind of repayment arrangements with them ASAP because they will waste no time attaching what little wages you do have. Hopefully if you can explain your situation to them they will let you pay it back when you are able. I can assure you that the fact that it was their error will carry no weight. They are second only to the IRS when it comes to sympathy...
Talk to you on Wednesday punkin.
Love ya,
Greggie

Lousy, stinkin', rotten, ignorant and retarded bureaucrats.
I agree with Greg, make them arrange a reasonable payback schedule. This stinks.

I went to the dr. and got antibiotics for my sinus infection. That was quite a feat for me, to just do it. I went to a walk-in clinic (like a minor emergency center that you can go to if you don't have a regular doc).
The best part is, they gave me samples for all the meds!! The antibiotic they wanted me to take (biaxin xl) is about $80 a prescription, so they saved me lots of money.
Now, I am looking forward to feeling better physically. Whew! Thank you, Jeesus!
