I saw all the anger on admin, mostly towards Lou Pilder- whom I've never read. I worry how upset some posters got, the paranoia I felt thinking is he for real or part of an experiment to gauge reactions among PBers; but perhaps it's just part of the ebb and flow here- we've certainly had our share of disruptive posters. I hope all is well with everyone, I am extremely dissociative- which is pleasant in a way, but not a real healthy place with children to take care of- Judy

Judy,
I've been offline a while myself with computer problems.I'm wondering about your dissociating. What is that like for you? Like reality feels surreal? Or like watching things from a distance? (Those are the types of things I experience.)
Just curious how it affects other people.

I feel like a ghost in the room Shar. Like my body isn't real. I don't feel a part of whatever is happening around me. Either I'M in slow motion or the rest of the world is. I feel just a little out of phase with the reality that everyone else is living.
I kind of like it sometimes.......

It feels like I am watching my body as it carries on converstations (if I'm lucky). If I'm not, then I simply am amnestic for a period of time which is extremely scary. Like Tina, the first scenario is not unpleasant (almost like a drug-induced state), the second scenario leads to SI quite often. My official diagnosis is DD-NOS, my shrink doesn't believe in MPD and while I do, I would prefer not to have it. My therapist did explain there is a wide spectrum of dissociative states, with many people experiencing some symptoms. I'll post from time to time, and let everyone know my progress. Thanks for asking- Judy

Thanks for telling me about your experiences. I hope we can all keep those to a minimum. Well, I guess that's part of the scare (at least for me), I can't predict when it might happen.
Mine is pretty mild, a brief out of body type, or the 'finding myself at work and not remembering the drive there at all' type.

From some of the books I'm reading about dissociation, the highway thing is considered a 'normal' experience. I've been 'conversing' with Terra on PPB, and she's been very helpful with the more serious symptoms. Take care, Judy
