Effexor and Wellebutrin SR

Posted by Teresa on November 29, 1999, at 9:11:27

My doc wants to add 100 mg of Wellebutrin to 225 mg. effexor to help sexual side effects. Does anyone have experience with this, if so, what side effects or help?

Hi Teresa. I have no experience with this. However, I did see a clinical abstract at medline describing the use of effexor+wellbutrin for successful treatment of resistant depression.

Teresa, I'm taking Effexor but have had no adverse sexual side effects so far (but am only on 75 mg/day; increase it again tomorrow). How much are you taking? I've been hoping that the Effexor XR will finally be the medication that helps without having the sexual side effects (which I experienced on Prozac, Luvox, and Zoloft, but not Serzone). Please keep us posted as to whether the Wellbutrin helps (I may ask for that too if the Effexor has the same effect on me!).--Cindy
