Effexor w/d

There is quite a bit on Dr, Bob's Tips and Tricks site
at http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/ on Effexor and w/d. Enter the name "Effexor" in the right hand side.

One trick I found intresting was to give 1 or 2 doses of Prozac as someone is comming off Effexor, which these doc's report totally stops any w/d effects.

Thought I might post about effexor w/d and me as I have been thru it several times. Note that I in general am not sensitive to side effects and can take high doses of maost AD with little problem !
First week I can become emotional...like tears when watching sad things on TV, which is annoying ! Atavin 1 mg prn takes care of this. Mood is rocky...this is when I use what I learned
on the couch.

After a week or so mood is ok, generally and I can hold it together for a month if my depression is not active. Cognation and focus ( I'm ADD)starts to fog, and I don't take Dex if I am not on an AD or in a break thru depression unless I really have to.

Effexor works with domanine, a thought chem that Dex also has effect) I think this accounts for the sig. difference to cognation...unlike any AD b4. Effexor also works with 5-HT and nor-E, I'm totaly a nor-E person. Restarting Effexor, it comes on quick. Cognation and focus first and mood in a week or so.

This is the end of the thread.
