Hello to everyone - I just found this board and I think it's great to have a place to ask questions and offer support. A few years ago I was on Prozac for about a year and it worked very well in alleviating my depression. I weaned myself off and have been OK(some down periods, but manageable). Recently I felt myself feeling anxious & depressed again and went back to the dr. who prescribed Celexa this time. It's been 2 weeks now, and the anxiety has leveled off, but I still don't feel that lift that I got from Prozac. I'd be interested in others' experiences with these 2 drugs.
Thanks in advance.

Torrey,
Hi, I've been on Celexa 40 mg for about a month. And I also took prozac before. I know the up feeling that your talking about with the prozac.. Celexa also has the same effect on me. Don't have that up feeling. But it works wonderfully for my depression, but just can't get too happy or excited about anything. I have experienced a few side effects though. For the first 2 weeks i was very tired.. and yawned all the time also had a very dull headache at the base of my neck. Although these have since gone away I now have slight tremors in my hands. But as with the headaches I'm hoping that they will go away.... the best side effect for me has been a DEFINITE increase in my sex drive.... : ) (also have not had any weight gain) Good luck I hope it works for you.......
This is the end of the thread.
