What are people's experience with the best time to take Celexa, morning or night, and with or without food. Thanks

Let's hear from someone taking Celexa. But, I take my main dose of Effexor XR at bedtime. I do this because I want the AD in my system and hard at work for when I get up in the morning. Although the meds may be aborbed through the gut after only a few hours, IMHO, I suspect that it takes much longer for it to cross the blood brain barrier and affect an appropriate modification of the nervous system.

I've been on Celexa since Feb. 23. I take it with dinner. I eat dinner late, however, usually around 8:00 pm, and I'm in bed by 10:00. I do believe it makes me sleepy, but then it's time for bed anyway. During the first couple of weeks, I felt a little daytime grogginess, but that has gone away.

My experience with Celexa has shown me that one should take it in the morning.
The reason for this is because it can cause insomnia, and it keeps one awake.

Excellent suggestion, Sarah. I forgot to add the fact that I also take Seroquel(mood stabilizer/ antipsyc). Seroquel will put you to sleep for sure!!! No attacks of insomnia with that puppy!

I take in the morning with a lot of water. Side benefit for me is that it seems to suppress my appetite.

I am waking up around 2:30 each morning and then I begin dozing and waking up until I give into it around 5:00 a.m. and get out of bed. Will this subside after awhile. I also was yawning all the time but that has eased up.
