I have had mono now for about 4 months and my doctor has prescribed celexa for me because he thinks that part of the reason my symptoms are lasting so long is due in part to depression caused by being so sick for so long. I'm also a worrier and tend to experience alot of anxiety when I am sick. However, I have heard that celexa may cause fatigue and that is the last thing I need. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or input on any of this?

Dan,
I felt some sedation at first with Celexa. Prozac is a more activating SSRI; you may want to consider it. (Though because of your anxiety begin at a low dose and titrate up to 20mg or whatever the target dose is slowly.) Prozac helped significantly with my anxiety.
Best,
Matt

Hi Dan......I have been feeling fatigued after nearly 3 weeks on celexa. However I have noticed sutle changes and have started doing things i havent done in a very long time. Simple things like painting my nails, not that this would interest you :) but each day does seem to bring continuing improvements with lessening side effects. Hope this helps. Stay safe :)
