I recently went in to have surgery and was given the drug
Catapres/Clonidine. Within 20 mins I had a seizure. Is
this a side effect with this drug and are there any lasting
side effects?

Dear C. Elkins -- I just looked in the PDR product labeling for clonidine, and found no reports of seizures. Out of curiousity, why did they give you clonidine, an antihypertensive, for surgery? And what kind of surgery did you have? Also, could it have been a drug associated with surgery such as anesthesia or antibiotics that caused the seizure?
