The first chapter could be called
"It Was Time For a Party"
and then you can imagine all sorts of incompatible people there and work up the dialogue from that.

Our family used to play a fun game. You'd write a story - or it could be even a nursery rhyme (sp?)

The you'd take out some of the words & one person held the paper, asking the others for "Noun" "Adjective" etc.

So you could end up with

Mary had a little Spaceship
It's Refrigerator was white as Mud
And everywhere that Dr. Bob went
The Birdhouse was sure to Skateboard

Some of them were SO hilarious we'd have tummy aches from laughing.

I can start one & we can see where it goes. Kath

I would have to imagine some incompatible people (whose verbal styles I know) together.

It must be fun to write dialogue, though that would be easy for Bob....you could keep his part fairly brief.

Having KK there would be a good start.

> OK Scott - so since we're starting it, we get to run the show, no?

Not me. I need to assure that I have plausible deniability.

I think we can rely on the honor system. People who are adamant about not being silly, but whom are silly enough to read the story, are, in fact, silly. Everyone passes the audition! Woohoo!

I will defer to others to get the story started, as I am not silly enough to be responsible for its success.

Ok, what the hell.

Once upon a time in cyberspace, lived a benevolent young doctor (not so young now) who set out to enrich the world with his establishment of a silly website devoted to nothing in particular. He called it "Psycho-Babble", but no one could pin him down on exactly what he meant by this. It seemed that this would be a pattern of discourse for which the benevolent young doctor (not so young now) is now so famous for.

See. That sucked. I think someone else should start.

OK

No Declan, KK said, I do not actually live in Montana and I'd love you to stay but we have no room. All I've got is some Makers Mark but you can probably score some Dex down the corner of 5th and 17th.

At the party Declan annoyed everyone by talking about himself.
'I took the whole bottle. I don't feel psychotic at all. I could manage a stroke perhaps.'
Everyone fell silent. Was that how they talked over there?

It didn't take Declan long to start a fight with Scott.
'Do you want a drink? Do you come from New York? Civility prevents me from expressing my view of your view of psychiatry.'
'Thanks, you've already given me one. You are on amphetamine, which is an ineffective AD. Have you considered taking nortriptylline?'
'Scott, I just have to catch up with TC.'

But Declan couldn't answer Texas Chic as he was totally passed out on the floor. Was it a stroke or drugs. Now the tension grows. Where did that doc Scott go we need him now. Anyone got the paddles? Phillipa

Phillipa

I didn't mean to upset you. It just sounded kind of cute at the time, but I won't mention it in the manner you had asked me to refrain from. It was only a creative gesture.

Sorry my reasoning isn't up to par while my life falls apart.

Garnet you've got us going on a creative streak join in the fun. Your turn now add to the story. And I don't feel you did anything to be forgiven for but forgiven. Seriously your turn now. Last time we did this it lasted all weekend and we really did have fun. Lets see how many continue. Please add to the story. We could have the longest thread in the history of babbleland. Love Phillipa

lol, Scott. That is an opening line that would definitely make me want to read the story. It reminds me of Lemony Snicket who is one of my particular heroes.

Now, you know the only paddles this hospital has are for ECT! Should we shock him anyway? Maybe we can get all of his neurotransmitters to flood out the drugs from his brain I am just troubled by the idea that he might forget how to pay us.

When I bent down and yelled in his ear "Do you have insurance?", he immediately woke up and was as lucid as can be.

So Declan proceeded to make a come back as the thought of no having insurance worked better that even the cardiac massage the good doc Scott had threatened to perform on him. My was he faking? I would hope not. Phillipa

Just as well we had some medical expertise at the party.

These parties may be hazardous for your health.
