A question from a man what do you ladies like to be addressed as, Miss, MS, Mrs, chic, sweetheart, honey, or any special name? Thanks Fondly, Phillipa

It depends on the relationship w/ the person. If it is a professional I prefer Ms., although you rarely get that sort of repect nowadays (I'm probably too young to say that, though). Mrs. is risky unless you know for sure. Miss sounds a little like you are talking down to someone, like a child or something. And I think that most women don't like it anymore.
From romantic partners, I like it when he calls me something like "honey" but only after we know each other.
Of course, I mostly like to be called "your majesty" but it doesn't happen that often. ;) Just kidding, I'm still in touch w/ reality (mostly).
Phillipa, I owe you a babblemail. I'm behind on my correspondence. I hope things are working out for you!
Best,
EE

I didn't even see this before I posted.....
Great royal minds think alike? :-)
And what's so great about being in touch with reality anyway? Give me a terrific fantasy any day.....
'course, that statement doesn't say much for my present reality, does it? :-( <sigh>

Don't you find that one can get a bit tiresome after a while though?

Well my fiance calls me starshine, and I like that a lot. But if it's from someone who just met me, I think my name is good. Miss, is also good. And No M'AM-ing, M'aming is not a good thing to do.
One thing I hate is when a guy comes up to a group of us and says "Hellooooooooooo Ladeeeeeeeez"
It makes me think violent thoughts. I generally don't like the term lady from a man, unless he's saying something like "She's a nice lady"I find that usually, younger men who refer to young women as 'Ladies" as in "What are you ladies up to this evening?" are real cheeseballs.
And whatever you do, don't interrupt two women engaged in conversation and ask "Are you ladies alone?"Because two women together are *not* alone.

I cannot bear it when a total stranger calls me "lovey" or "sweetie" or anything similar. Or when someone on the phone says "hello lady", I can just about have apoplexy!

i loooooove "pet names." you can really call me almost anything, and i'll get giddy over it. my newest friend calls me "hon" and i think that's cute. i also have a thing for being called "girl" or "little girl." the whole pet name thing is actually a fetish of mine... heh.

I agree on being called "girl", but only by my husband. It makes me feel all squishy inside.

Last week I was Miss, and suddenly this week I seem to have been married off and had my named changed over night. :P The kids in my practucum have started calling me by the wrong name, and mrs. I do like Miss though.
The first time I was called "a lady" at work a couple years ago I almost had a heart attack.
On another note, when you approach someone, and ask if them if they need help or something, say at work, how do you address them? I always call them Ma'm or sir.

I never say anything bad to people who call me m'am, because I've heard it's actually quite polite, and I think a lot of people in the service industry must be taught to say it, because that's generally where it happens.
All I know is that I still think they're talking to my mom!

Oh God, that's so cute!
Squishy, that's exactly the word too. I know my fiance says a lot of things that make me feel all squishy, and that's one of them.
My Uncle used to call my Aunt "mother" I always felt a bit ill when I heard that.

I guess I just prefer my name. And if they don't know it, Ma'm or Miss is fine. Or maybe, "Hey hot skinny young chic!"
In the south, Ma'm is a way of showing the upmost respect. For instance, elderly women are always Ma'm. A female cop who's pulled me over? Definitely Ma'm.
Around here anyone in customer service who's even halfway trained will call you Ma'm, so I'm pretty used to it. Its when some cute young guy calls me Ma'm when the setting doesn't really require it, then I feel OLD! (Although in the right setting, that could be kind of sexy).

Okay now I"m confused. I thought that everyone who called you TEXAS CHICK was making a mistake, because you spell it Chic as in "Sheik" the french word for very stylish (that would be Chic, not Sheik I'm referring to )But you just said "Hot skinny young Chic, as in Chick.. so
DAMMIT are you Chic.. or Chick?
Or SheikI'll just call you TExas Sheik. Would that be okay?

Oooh, 'Texas Sheik'? I never even thought of that!
I've always spelt the slang version of 'chick' (as in a girl) as 'chic'. Don't know why. I must have seen it spelt that way somewhere.
How about 'Sheik Texas Chic'?
Na-a-a, too much.
