Just my therapist, but so far I haven't gotten her to sleep with me. (Does that count?)

No, actually, I can't really take credit for my "converts." I suspect they had the tendencies before I had my way with them.

You do realize that we're going to have to figure out a way to pay for all the broken glass display cases and the front window after you picked that fight with the cashier over why the smallest serving at a Starbucks is a "large" and all hell broke loose. As usual, I gave my name to police as "Dr. Robert Hsiung of Chicago." What did you say? Atti

I told 'em I was Daniella Red, the notorious serial messer-with-heads. Heh heh. She's gonna be in big trouble now, boy. (Too bad for her that she gave us her real name.)

Hang on. Did you say "more approachable"? Do I really come across as intimidating here? (Oi! Hannibal, shut yer noise! Yeah, I'm talking to you, Lector! Can't hear myself think! Well, you SHOULD be sorry. Don't let it happen again. Yes, yes, I'll remember to bring the Chianti this time. Christ, some neighbors. I tell you.) ;)Atticus

well, it was a slip of the tongue, but yes, i did say that. :-)

and yes, i was serious. it could be just me, though..i can't speak for anyone else. why you seem unapproachable (to me), i have no clue..although you do seem approachable at the moment. did i answer your question? :-)

i think our little story is progressing quite nicely! your last entry had me laughing *so* hard! i can't remember the last time that happened. and me and those dam* moose fingers! i hope you like my last one..you set up the sex, i deliver..wait, that didn't sound right....<pout>

Glad you liked the last entry. As far as approachability goes, I guess my tendency for snarky banter and facetiousness -- when presented here without a smiling facial expression and a knowing wink -- might seem more sharp than intended. Have you ever read Douglass Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"? (It's like Monty Python meets "Star Wars".) In the actual Hitchhiker's Guide in the novel, the Earth is only deemed worthy of a two-word entry: "Mostly harmless." I think that could apply to me as well. Not quite so harmless to posters like Herman Munster and Daniella Red whose intentions are questionable, but completely harmless to people I like such as you, Jai, crushedout, Sabrina, and pretty everyone else. I'd be the first to admit that I'm a bit rough round the edges, but that's just the way I'm wired, I suppose. Keep on chillin', mama. Ta. ;) Atticus

gad, that whole 'Hitchhiker' series is great! i used to take out the audio versions from the library to listen to on the way to and from work. they made the drive tolerable. loved 'thanks for all the fish'.

hello 'atti',:)

i've thought more about this unapproachability thing, and i think it's more that you communicate a certain emotional distance. (so rest easy, you are by no means scary or intimidating in the traditional sense.)

as for the book, i never read it!! i'm, like, such a loser. <popping bubblegum> i saw the movie when i was a kid, which i loved, so after watching the movie i wasn't particularly interested in reading it.

you stay chilled, too, papi.

amy:)

p.s. i'm sure glad you consider me one of the people you 'like'.:) i wouldn't want no clarice starling action with mr. lector, if you know what i mean...<kidding!>

spiked hair, many colors?
lean and lithe?
leather clothes?
boots?
facial hair?
the blue eyes I know.
neatly trimmed beard, well fed, paisley clothes?
smoking a pipe, patches at the elbows of your pea green sweater?
army fatigues?
It would be so interesting for all of us to describe our selves. I am so curious.
it's like a mystery.

In reply to atticus, what do you look like?, posted by Jai Narayan on December 20, 2004, at 18:53:00

Hi Jai,
I guess I look pretty much like I've described myself in poems in the past. Six feet tall, about 180 lbs., spiky dark hair, pale Irish skin, blue eyes, slightly arched eyebrows. This time of year, I generally wear a fraying black leather motorcycle jacket over a flannel shirt over a t-shirt. Blue or black jeans. Steel-toed Harley-Davidson boots.
I have a question in return. Do you get the same sense of "emotional distance" radiating from me as Amy (Alesta)? For some reason, that description really stings. I don't know why it hurts, but it does. Maybe it's more accurate than I'd like it to be? Or maybe I feel it's unfair? I don't know. What's your take? I'd be curious to know. Ta. Atticus

I have always felt completely close to you.
You are my kin and linage.
You speak my language and I think you are on the top of my list of beloved people....
so what do you think?
No...I feel absolutely no distance.
you are immediate and real....
so real it hurts sometimes.
I am right there with you.
your buddy and loyal friend even when you push me away....
how about that...
I even wait around for you to come back...
I really care about you.

I trust you more than anyone else on PB, so I turned to you. Thanks so much for responding. I really needed that. Ta, luv. ;) Atticus

i'm glad you posted your perceptions of atticus, jai. i should have also reiterated again that it was only my individual perception; it could have no basis in reality, and i probably shouldn't have mentioned it. it's just me, atticus. don't worry about it! sometimes i need to keep my thoughts to myself..:) sure hope nobody's mad at me!:)

my goodness,
you are a wonderful person.
Never doubt your own perceptions.
I have known Atticus for half a year and am bonded to his being.
that does not mean you should have the same feelings I do.
you are a you, a unique person with your own feelings, I honor them and respect you.
If there is something that is disquieting for you about Atticus then explore it. Often we take so much to such a perception.
this is neither good or bad....it's just us.

In every experience there is a teacher.
I am here to learn.

remember you are good, important and real.
I will listen.

It is all online and people really do not know ALL about us and such unless they meet and spend a lot of time together. Heck even engaged and married people LEARN things about their spouse years after they are married. Maybe moving on would be helpful here for all of you?

Just a peacful thought

You should always feel free to be honest, Amy. If that's the way you feel, then that's the way you feel. I don't understand why you feel that way -- it kind of hit me out of left field, given our past interactions -- but as Jai said, it's certainly your right. Thing is, it can't help but affect the way I feel. Please don't feel bad. I just need time to think. Maybe a lot of people on PB feel the same way you do. I don't know. But that thought sure makes me uncomfortable about posting. Guess I should've just stuck to poems. I just wanted more interaction with others; but if I'm coming across as emotionally chilly, then I'm failing to connect anyway. Atticus
