I have a young dog he is really still a pup 9 months old now I have had him since he was an infant..He is well socialized and a party pup just LOVES people and I guess animals but prefers people...He is VERY smart and knows a lot of commands, he is also a brat..He will end up in time being a Therapy dog going to hospitals and such to perk people up and calm them, give them a connection.
So here is his problem he is the product of a stay at home dog mom and much conflict has gone on between mom and dad. I suffer anxiety and husband has anger issues. My pup has seperation anxiety. If I even go to the bathroom he weeps and barks till I come back no matter how long I try to out wait him...it doesn't matter if his dad is in the room he HAS to be by me..he is laying on me now...all 70 pounds...Any suggestions?? I am sure all of our issues have helped to make him a mess...It is hard to do anything in peace with him NOT in the room..HELP and Thanks

We have a male and female (they have to get married soon because they have had pups and my son says that is ALL wrong)
Our female has an independant nature but the male is just totally besotted with his dad and carries on like a whimpish child when dad isn't around. If I stand next to my husband he either nips at my ankles or pushes (yes, pushes) me aside.
What breed is your dog?

Thank You Yoshimi sadly toys do not do it he has more toys than a classroom of 3rd graders after Christmas lol...He bores easy and tears a lot of his toys up...keep in mind he is huge.
His pillow he had since he was 6 weeks old well he killed it tearing the inside out recently after he ummm, went through puberty all over it a LOT for MANY weeks if ya know what I mean. I can give him a toy ball filled with treats leave the room to go to the bathroom and he will whine and wait till I am back THEN play with the ball and eat the treats...he has seperation anxiety I never had human kids and do not know how to break this in a young dog

Wow. Thats quite some dog you have there.
I wish i had a better answer. My cats meow
when i come home, i pet them for a second and
they run along and ignore me. Occasionally
they will meow randomly for a while and I go find them and
look at them and they act like nothing is
wrong, so I just assume they are talking
back to some voice in thier head and figure
i should just not worry about it.I mean, they don't bother me when I talk to
myself. :)But hmm, in your case, I really dont know what
to say. Maybe he will outgrow it?

HAHAHA Sabrina this sounds like my dog your male that is...(no babies lol..get those two married)....mine will push, run over my husband can be on my husbands lap and if I leave the room wham he is off him and crying..he is obviously my dog I like the word besotted btw...the ankle snaps and pushing you are signs your male sees you as under him in the pack...I am the pack leader in my family no doubt even with the cats but....this weeping and all when I leave..it drives me loopier..Oh and he is a lab...yours???

hey saw,
have you tried nipping his ankles? I wonder what
would happen. I love animal behaviour it is so interesting.
my exboyfriend used to chase my cats around the
house than roll around the ground and meow at
them when one was a kitten. he would lay
on his back on the floor where they were rolling
around on the ground and shake his hands and
feet in the air. they seemed kinda
freaked out, but he thought it was funny.

The wedding will be quite interesting. My son wants to be the "bone bearer". We are going to have bronze bone shaped tags made for them saying "husband / wife". H will wear a bow tie and W a veil. I think I'll paint her toe nails too.
The engaged couple are pitbulls.

Thanks on the survival thing but I ain't so sure I cannot do anything in peace here..some days I just go for a ride for quiet :) Lol if you make a practice of feeling your cats paws as kitten a lot like massage them then you can cut nails...I do their nails, cut their hair and give like a shot too one of my cats he is VERY old and needs meds I got tired of daily trips to the vet so now he takes his shots and...still comes when called.,..I have had them MANY years. I love animals they never screw you over :)

Hmmm, bit him on the nose? sounds a little scary. :)
Yeah, the cat thing was wierd. He was trying
to act like a cat. I figured as long as he
didnt start eating cat food or usign the litter
box I would be ok.

Amen to that! Yeah, I love animals too.
Im sorry your dog is driving you nuts. I have only had my cats like 4 years. I never gave a
shot to them. I had to give one of them some
pain medicine, it was liquid and you gave it
with a plunger in the mouth. But thats all Ive
ever had to do.Now I want to know what kind of hair cut your
giving your kitty. My cats have short hair.

Lets see. We are going to have it at a neutral venue because we have so many friends insisting to be invited (really!). We haven't decided who is doing the service but I think it will be someone with a truly wicked sense of humor.
No flowers, we thought of buying a new tree to plant so the male can pee on it!
Red, definitaly red! We had to amputate a toe after a crab bit her but that's ok, makes her unique. She can be so naughty that I might give her a batman cape instead of a veil.
And we will take loads of pictures.
Yoshimi, I hadn't thought of a cake. Good idea! Will have one baked in the shape of ummmmmmm, a bone?
