Did anyone realize there's an effexor thread on PB that started 10/24/99 and is still going?

--------------------Just wait until Wyeth comes out with a new version that's 3% better and that thread will die (becoming the new "Effexapro" thread).

Effexor's OK. It helps you to function like a normal social person with the trade off of little electric shocks and a lost psyche...
Not a bad drug all things considered. Wouldn't recommend it long-term though.
It's not much worse (in terms of side effects) than tricyclics (Prothiaden) and SSRIs (Celexa). IMHO.

That thread has lasted about as long as my withdrawal effects from Effexor. I gotta wonder if that's some sort of internet record.

Ah we have more in commmon. Effexor is just the gift that keeps on giving don't you think?
My worst medication experience ever including benzo withdrawl. Actually being ON the effexor was just as bad as benzo withdrawl. Go figure it worked for my sister though..

OK, here's some distorted blackened world-revolves-around-me thinking... I actually posted to the effexor thread. And now... no more replies. I killed it. I killed the longest thread! I'm evil thread death.

With all the *interesting* experiences
I had regarding Effexor, I think I'm actually
obligated morally to post on the endless thread.
Thank you for telling me about Tabitha. What are friends for?
I used to think I closed stores.
All my favorite stores ended up closing when I lived in Vancouver. I thought that was the strangest thing. Well actually I didn't actually think it WAS me. I thought it was more evidence of the plot there is to suck any pleasure at all from my life.
Eventually though, a friend was "kind" enough to state the obvious. I hate crowds, I just naturally gravitate to the ones that are usually empty.

----------------I seem to have the ability to stop lines from forming. If I get in a line of 12 people at a store, no one falls in behind me until I'm done. In an inverse view, I just always seem to arrive at the exact worse time. Any later, and I wouldn't have to wait as long.

For my husband and I it's products we like. If we find the best hot chocolate or sports drink or whatever ever, it's bound to be discontinued. :(

That I think three times now I've posted beneath yours and commented more on the subject in general than to you, but accidentally directed the post towards you.
I'm sorry, I'm not stalking you, and I find it really charming how you find something to reply to me with, just as if my comment posted to you had everything to do with what you'd said..:)
I'll be more careful with that little "add name of previous poster" box now.

I create empty zones in seat-yourself crowds like large meeting rooms and classes. I swear, wherever I sit, the only remaining empty spots in the room will be right next to me.

A-ha, I think the thread isn't really endless, rather Bob~o~Doc keeps tacking all the new effexor threads onto the old one.

Then he could make it endless, thus saving us all from terrible withdrawal symptoms, by tacking the first post - http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/19991028/msgs/13781.html - onto the end of the same thread;
but he must take great care to avoid accidentally giving it a Moebius half-twist before joining the ends: I think that must be what happened to this thread - http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20030224/msgs/204175.html - which appears in the current Psycho-Babble index under the title "SLS--Great web page(s)". Of course, this will no longer make sense if Dr Bob fixes that twisted thread before you click on the link.

Over and over and over again....just when I think it's finally gotten the hell outta my system, I'll be walking down the street, minding my own business, and I'll get a head buzz so hard I think I'm about to kiss the pavement. Of course, gabbi, you realize we are now contributing to the neverending Effexor thread? Arrrgggh! Chicken or the egg?! :)

Hey,
my start up effects sound alot like your withdrawal effects. Does that mean if i have this crap now, I won't have it when I get off Effexor?? Wouldn't that be a hoot?
I wish!
It's been 3 weeks and I'm a walking, talking, blind, dizzy, tripping, swaying stoner who can't sleep through the night without terrorizing panic!!!! Is that about right?
*sigh*

... http://bnf.vhn.net/bnf/documents/bnf.868.html#BNFID_98202 (escitalopram — the US name is Lexapro®). The Moebius twist in your drink will transform all the S-citalopram in your antidepressant into inactive R-citalopram, which has no effect on serotonin reuptake, or anything else, and therefore no antidepressant action.
Fortunately, those clever researchers at Lundbeck, using the latest igNobel Prize-winning techniques of molecular racemization, have come up with a brilliant solution to your problem.
Ask your doctor to prescribe new Cipramil® — http://bnf.vhn.net/bnf/documents/bnf.867.html#BNFID_33059 (racemic citalopram — the US name is Celexa®). It contains the same amount of S-citalopram as Cipralex®, together with all the same excipients; but it also contains the additional, pharmacologically inert pro-drug R-citalopram, at precisely the same concentration as S-citalopram. The Moebius twist in your drink still converts all the S-citalopram into inactive R-citalopram, but it also transforms all the R-citalopram that was originally present into active S-citalopram — exactly the right amount to replace the original S-citalopram which was destroyed; so Cipramil® is equally effective whether you take it with or without a Moebius twist.
And, for those agoraphobic days when you've run out of gin and can't face going out for a new bottle, Cipramil® oral drops contain a second extra excipient: ethyl alcohol (9% by volume). Mix with tonic water, orange juice or apple juice before taking (and a twist of Moebius, of course), ice optional.
