I think those dogs spend more on their clothes than I do. I too am grateful to have a cat. I did once try to put doll clothes on my childhood cat. Once. The wounds have long since healed but it's not a mistake I will ever make again.

Well, let me introduce myself to fellow kitty people. I have 8 cats. It's dangerous for me to even get near an animal shelter. One time I stuck my head in the cattery 'just to see' and ended up driving home with 5 new cats. Found homes for most of them. Even with 6 cats I found myself buying one from Scruffy's or Scoundrel's or whatever it's called. I now try to avert my eyes from such stores while at the mall. I hope this confession doesn't blow my anonimity cover cuz I'm pretty infamous round these parts as being loopy when it comes to the little furry sweethearts. Oooh, a kitty on the ankle, what a wonderful idea! Oh no oh no, where are my car keys? - BarbaraCat

My kitties have all been "saved" as well. My baby; Zak, who is a balinese, came from a breeder who couldn't show (he was a grand-champion!), or breed him out anymore so she didn't want him...can you believe that??? He's beautiful! I just don't get it! My girlie, Jezebel, has no claws!!! The other two "tuxedo" guys came from people who didn't want them either.....=o(
I find cats to be very theraputic...they are very mysterious and loving, but not needy or pathetic.
They can brighten up any day for me...

Nope, not me. No human kids, just furry ones - And I say your mother-in-law should stay put and take care of her kitties!

Thanks for the website, I joined up for sure, and share your sentiments totally about our furry angels. Love the quote! Here's another one:

"Heaven would not a heaven be
were my cats not there
to welcome me."

I think it's by Oscar Wilde, who loved cats.

Was a database and systems analyst in my 'other' life before my physical and psychic system crashed and burned last year. Now I'm waiting for SSecurity disability to come through. No way I will ever do that kind of soul sucking work ever again, but have no inkling what else I'll do if and when I have to go back to work. My husband is also out of work cause of layoffs so we drive out to the ocean frequently and walk for miles. When I'm feeling good (meaning when not prostrate over money worries) I work in my garden up here in the beautiful NorthWest, play the piano, cuddle with my 8 cats (and sometimes with my husband) and joy of joy! have started taking dance classes again, my source of bliss!
