Do you think Babble would have evolved differently if Bob had whimsically named it Dr Psycho's Bob-babble instead of Dr Bob's Psycho-babble?
I'm not a psycho and I don't babble. No wonder I keep getting blocked!!!!!! I do not belong here. I think it is interesting that Bob chose to hyphenate Psycho-Babble.

I feel about babblers and Dr Psycho like Alex felt about her former housemates. It's very validating to be told I don't belong here.

> I feel about babblers and Dr Psycho like Alex felt about her former housemates.
if that is true then why are you here?
after i appreciated that i couldn't do my thing living with my former housemates i tried to get the hell out of there with every fibre of my being. it is true that i was stuck there for ages... because i didn't have anywhere else to go that i could afford... that was any better...
is it like that for you? are you still here because while you really don't feel that anybody here understands who you are or what you need or what makes you tick or anything... that there isn't anyplace else in the world that can offer anything more for you? is that why you are here?
in my case... funds were limiting. i knew what i needed (to live by myself as self contained as possible while being surrounded by graduate students / professors / university support people).
do you know what sort of environment may be a better fit for you? do you have something... like how pc has her women's support group where she feels... understood. where (if i understand her correctly) she can relax and be herself and they all... are in synch, somehow. they don't need to explain or justify endlessly... they can just sort of be... and understand... and feel understood.
you don't have anyplace like that?

I prefer being blocked. Dr Psycho refuses to give voluntary blocks.
Its also fun to observe the group dynamics and say hi to people I know.
And partly it's just a really bad habit like a nervous tic or something. And part reality show.
No I don't need something to replace Babble. It's different from your need to have a place to live. I just meant the feeling that these people are not like me and just having such different values from most of you babblers. And feeling a little guilty that I can't just hang out with people like you without feeling the way I do. Certainly not the quality of desperation you had.
I also may not completely understand how you felt. Your posts are hard for me to read because of the run on style and lack of punctuation and all the cussing. So I haven't read nearly all of them.

do you want to say more? about how you think you are different? i might not understand... but i'd be willing to try.

that is funny :) i wonder if people find it harder to read things that are different from themself. if it is more cognitively demanding / challenging, i mean.
i read back through my posts sometimes... and i personally find my writing style easy to follow. i suppose that is because this is how i think.

It also happens when a homely duck thinks they have a clever idea and a bushel of resentiment. Guess some ducks must be capable of that. I wonder if animal biologists might want to study the habits of homely cygnets. Maybe it's mostly seen in them.

so I'm not sure I get your point.
but I wouldn't say that I'm sure--I can infer a few things-- but they can always be off=base, or partial.
homely cygnet may be fully of the most spritely humor and beneficent sentiments--

Anybody else ever feel like a homely cygnet? Not like others, having values different from others?
I wonder if it would be possible for you to hang out here even though you feel the way you do. There are dabbling ducks, why not babbling ducks?

Bob I only feel like a homely cygnet when I am swimming in the kiddie pool with the cygnets. If I babble like a duck I get blocked ;) I'm just an average adorable duck in the Big Wide World not a homely cygnet.
I prefer being blocked rather than just avoiding the site because being blocked is a repudiation of the Babble values and a way of supporting the people who are mistreated here symbolically at least. I'd be happy to come by and say Hi every year or so.
