Here's the problem with this as I see it. I know we all agreed that you, Dr. Bob, could use our posts elsewhere but when does common sense play a role here?
"Publishing" is one thing, but Twitter is like MASS POSTING our private stuff to the world. Not sensitive at all. People don't take Twitter sensitively. It is not a place to mess around with your feelings or open up your soul.
I am a big Twitter user. I have a fairly big following and I follow many others. The chances of eventually being identified based upon what I'm writing here is increased by huge amounts. I happen to know that my T is on Twitter. What if she started following your Twitter account by accident? She knows not to come here. This is a special, private space for me. I don't know, too risky. I'm starting to feel like this site has become too exposed for me. I'm very nervous now. Also, I post things here that my friends could identify... then they could find me and see everything. Just a bad plan.
Also, I can't STAND the arguing and tension that goes on in this board and do NOT visit it as a result. I sure wish big announcements like this were posted at the top of our PSYCHO (or other) boards. I shouldn't have to come here and be exposed to these struggles between you and the admins and others just to see if my stuff is going to be used in a way that feels TOTALLY UNSAFE to me.
Please, just remember who you are and how much power you have to hurt. You provide a good service here, but aren't you supposed to avoid DOING HARM?
Thanks,
FindingMyDesire

I also don't want my previous posting names available for twittering:
Rainyday
ClearSkies(as there are many posts in the archives under those names.)
Thx. This is getting interesting.

In reply to No twitter please (nm), posted by antigua3 on July 2, 2009, at 11:11:50
I've been on the fence about this twitter thing since discovering that there was such a thing. I appreciate Dr. Bob's explanation as to how it works and what are the consequences of being a twittee.
At this point, I would prefer not to have myself "out there" and exposed in cyberspace except for where I wish to be. Google already does a fine job of pointing to this website.
I wish to OPT-OUT.
Thanks.

I did not know one had to opt out of twitter. Only if you post a lot would one know.
I want to opt out of twitter.
If anything I posted is there, I will sue.
There should have been individual messages to all posters about whether or not they wanted to opt out according to my attorney.
